Hi everybody
I'm Giorgos from Athens Greece.I discovered this forum looking for infos about my 2002 Beta Alp200 i bought one year ago.
I'm using it as moped and as trail bike.
I hope we can exhange infos about this little bike.
I have also a 2000 Honda XR650R which I'm using it as Off road,Adventure bike,Supermoto etc.
Here is a pic of my Alp200,i tried to post it directly but I can't.
If someone can tell me the way of posting pics directly i would be grateful.

The models 2008+ are 30% easyer to ride in offrad conditions. The advantage of the older bikes was, that the stock exhaust was not so clogged and the engine performance was a little bit mor powerful....

Hi Frank
30%?? That's sounds impressive.I guess this is most due to the different frame than other components (brakes, suspension etc).
Newer Alp's frame looks very sturdy.
Anyways I'm quite tall guy with experience to heavier dirt bikes and Alp gives me the feeling of mountain bike (bicycle) when I'm riding it.

I have launched "your" model in the German speaking countries in 2000 and the new model in 2008. Since 2009 I had approx. 70 pcs ALP 200 as hire bikes in the last 13 years.

Know both products from scratch. For you as a tall guy it probably does not make a big difference, but for Trial hiking and short people like me the new one is much better and by the way not looking as grandpa's bike...

Frank

P.S. If you ever meet Teddy Antoniadis, please say hello...

Oh,you have big experience from these bikes.
I really laughed with grandpa's bike but personally (and honestly) i like it (as i like newer models).
A friend of mine is looking for few months to buy newer model (used) but it is difficult to find one in decent price. One or two of them costs over 4.000 euros when new ones costs 5.800.

I know Teddy and i'll say hello from you.
